GL Announces Enhancements to VoIP Test Tool for Conformance Testing
Gaithersburg, MS (PRWEB) April 21, 2008 -- GL Communications Inc., announced today enhancements to its VoIP Conformance Test Tool, called Message Automation & Protocol Simulation (MAPS) (http://www.gl.com/maps.html) - a software tool designed for SIP and Megaco protocol conformance testing. Speaking to the press persons, Mr. Karthik Ramalingam, senior manager of product development at GL Communications Inc. said, "Message Automation and Protocol simulation (MAPS) supports SIP and Megaco protocol conformance testing. The Megaco part of the application is capable of testing Media Gateways (MG) and Media Gateway Controllers (MGC)".
Mr. Ramalingam, further added, "MAPS can be used to simulate any interface of the VoIP network. Single MAPS can act as more than one SIP entity at a time and can generate any SIP message on wire in VoIP network and hence most of testing can be automated and also equipments needed to test are reduced".
Brief description of the application is provided below:
Message Automation & Protocol Simulation (MAPS SIP) (http://www.gl.com/mapssip.html) is designed to test SIP proxy servers, Redirect servers, Registrars and user agents such as SIP phones. Test cases include general messaging and call flow scenarios for multimedia call session setup and control over IP networks. Logging and pass/fail results are also reported.
The MAPS - SIP Conformance Suite is designed with 300+ test cases, as per SIP specification of ETSI TS 102 027-2 document. Test cases include general messaging and call flow scenarios for multimedia call session setup and control over IP networks. Logging and pass/fail results are also reported.
The application gives the users the unlimited ability to edit SIP messages and control scenarios (message sequences). "Message sequences" are generated through scripts. "Messages" are created using message templates. The application is available as:
?MAPS for SIP (Item # PKS120 )
?MAPS - SIP Conformance Suite (Item #PKS121)
